Cabin in the wilderness
Matteo: Also known as the 'huntcamp', even though we don't necessarily hunt. The huntcamp has been in the family long before I was even part of its' family. It has been owned by my step-dad, Terry's family for at least a generation. His dad used to go there to hunt for his food, spend time with his friends and family, and rest and relax away from modern day electronics, as the hunt camp is a totally off grid, bush living, a cabin in the wilderness. Back on a gravel, bush-covered road, way past where the hydro lines end and the river flows, situated upon the Queen Elizabeth's Crownland's beautiful rock formation sits our quiet little two room cabin. (It really is a hidden piece of paradise, so unfortunately as time has went on, and many people have proven such disrespect of the land back there with consistent garbage, broken glass, and lack of care for others, the wildlife, and nature in general, the exact spot I can't say, though I will say the black river is perfect spot to do a canoe/ portage trip through, please just leave no footprint)
We have continued to carry on the tradition (minus the hunting) ever since Terry and my mother, Darlene, got married under the bridge by the rapids at our camp. It was a moment i'll never forget; walking my mom across the bridge, down the rocks to her new happily awaiting husband. Since then, the huntcamp and that forest really has been my piece of escape.
From the moment I met Lauren, I knew this hidden place would be one I would introduce to her, and continually enjoy with her, and Beanz.. And of course we still do!
Venturing into the bush away from life's stresses and really just getting to enjoy each other and nature is like no other. I'm looking forward to again enjoying many memories in there. Until next time..
